Join Marek Scholarship winner Stena Lieb and NAMA Marketing Chair Kathy Yerich to hear highlights from the North American Mycological Association (NAMA) Annual Foray, held this year on August 27th – in Marquette Michigan.

This zoom meeting is free and open to the public.

Stena Lieb has been an active member of the Minnesota Mycology Society for over 6 years and has volunteered to assist on multiple forays. She loves learning more and more about mushrooms with the seasoned veterans at the forays, but has also been doing a lot of her own research using mushrooms for papermaking. She gave a presentation at the Cloquet foray last fall and at the Bell Museum for the MMS 125th anniversary. Her endeavors lead a bit more toward the art aspect of mushrooms because she is an artist and an art teacher. She has. a thirst for knowledge and loves teaching about things she learns, which goes hand in hand when it comes to foraging and learning about mushrooms!

Kathy Yerich has been an MMS member for almost 20 years! She is the co-author of the popular and accessible field guide Mushrooms of the Upper Midwest and credits her mentors, including Ron Spinosa and the late MarekTurowski for the encouragement to join NAMA and to continue to seek mushroom knowledge from many places!

Presentations are recorded and posted a few days later on the MMS YouTube channel. This meeting is free and open to the public. Members receive Zoom links on meeting announcements and reminders.
