Are you looking for an MMS chapter in the Bemidji area? Look no further! The Paul Bunyan Chapter is a welcoming group of foragers in northern Minnesota.
Who We Are
We are a chapter of the Minnesota Mycological Society which serves north-central Minnesota. We enjoy looking for mushrooms and other fungi (forays) and learning about them together. You are welcome to join us, regardless of your previous experience. As a chapter of the MMS, we cooperate with other clubs in the region and are affiliated with the North American Mycological Society (NAMA).
What we do in the Paul Bunyan Chapter
The Paul Bunyan Chapter of the MMS participates in all MMS Meetings in person or via Zoom.
In warmer months, we take walks together to find mushrooms in various natural areas. During and after the walk, we discuss what we have found and share information, including identification, edibility (for some), and interesting facts about fungi. This is the best way to learn to identify mushrooms.
