Update on the Legislative Sustainable Foraging Task Force
Thank you to everyone who helped advocate for the creation of the Legislative Sustainable Foraging Task Force. Your outreach to legislators was instrumental in getting it approved. Now that the Task Force has begun its work, we want to share an update and highlight opportunities for public involvement.
What’s Happened So Far
The Task Force has held its initial meetings and begun hearing concerns from the DNR. In response, we’ve provided studies and papers addressing both the social and ecological aspects of foraging.
We are now gathering additional materials to help inform the Task Force’s work. If you have articles, position papers, research, or studies related to foraging in any form, please share them; they are greatly appreciated.
How to Participate
All Task Force meetings are open to the public, either in person or via Zoom. Recordings, schedules, and agendas are available on the Minnesota Sustainable Foraging Task Force website.
The Task Force is also welcoming public input. You may submit testimony in person, virtually via Zoom, or in writing. Written input can be sent to:
