This is an annual foray held in the fall at the same location every year hosted by the Wisconsin Mycological Society.

This foray retreat is based in Cable, WI, land of beautiful bogs, incredibly biodiverse woods, ‘hemlock cathedrals’ and mushrooms galore. There is a reason why the Northwoods Foray has been host to the North American Mycological Association annual foray (in 2017) and its regional foray (in 2022). Even when the weather is off and conditions are dry, foray leaders have been able to scout and find excellent trails. This year, while much of Wisconsin is in some level of drought, the area around Cable has fared much better and we anticipate excellent finds for foraging and science, and a species count to match.
