The Midas Mushroom: The Invasion of Golden Oyster Mushrooms in the Midwest (updated)
with Aishwarya Veerabahu

Our September 9th meeting will be shared remotely via Zoom.

Since her presentation to MMS in 2023, Aishwarya has continued to study the Golden Oyster and the potential ecological impacts of this invasive wood decay fungus. She has new findings to report and would like to share ideas for responsible cultivation of this species moving forward.

Aishwarya is a 2nd year PhD student in Dr. Anne Pringle’s lab at UW-Madison. She studies the ecological impacts of invasive wood decay fungi and hopes to explore the science communication and environmental policy around invasive fungi.

Presentations are recorded and posted a few days later on the MMS YouTube channel.
