A MycoBlitz is a 1-day survey by mycologists and volunteers of the fungal species present in a particular area. This MycoBlitz will contribute specimens and data to the North American Mycoflora Project – a collaboration between professional mycologists and citizen scientists to identify and map the distribution of macrofungi throughout North America. This collaboration allows the scientific community to tap into the vast amount of knowledge and data amassed by individuals and mycology clubs, and can provide a new focus for amateur efforts.

This is a volunteer opportunity to spend some time outdoors, learn about mushrooms and contribute to an important scientific effort.
