Participants will l earn the basics of using iNaturalist on both mobile devices and computers\ , along with tips and best practices for uploading observations. The prese ntation will also cover applications of iNaturalist specific to mycology. Finally\, we'll share how participants at the NAMA Yoop Annual Foray made huge contributions to fungal diversity mapping in Michigan by documenting and collecting fungi with the support of iNaturalist during the event.\n\n \n\nThis is an in-person meeting\, free and open to the public. \n\n\n\n\n Oliver Filialuna (They/Them) follows their passion for mycological communi ty history\, fungarium collection management\, and community engagement an d education by sitting on the NAMA Voucher Collection Project committee\, NAMA Marketing committee\, and running the northamericanmyco instagram acc ount. They got an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Washington a nd BS in Biology from Montana State University.\n\n\n\n\n\nElora Adamson i s a long time iNaturalist user\, community science enthusiast\, environmen tal educator and graduate student at the University of Victoria in British Columbia\, Canada. She’s worked for the BC Biodiversity Program for two years- using iNaturalist to survey fungi in BC’s provincial parks. She also coordinates the MycoMap BC project.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresentations ar e recorded and posted a few days later on the MMS YouTube channel.
