MMS 2020 Photo Contest Entries Presentation

Now that’s a truffle!!

Howard Goltz will present ALL of the 2020 MMS Photo Contest submissions. Ooohs and Aaahs will be welcome. Note that in the absence of MMS face-to-face member meetings, judging of the 2020 submissions will be conducted separately by a small panel of judges, with winners to be announced and presented in February 2021.

Howard’s painting of his favored edible!

Howard grew up in North Mankato on the Minnesota River enjoying woodlands, wetlands, meadows and seasonal Morel ‘forays’ with his family. Following his graduation from the U of MN and a 45-year career as a ‘healthcare’ architect, his (literal) focus returned to nature, joining the Minnesota Mycological Society in 2011 and serving as Board Secretary 2015-2018 and now as Photo Contest Coordinator.

Howard is also a member of the North American Mycological Association, where he serves as Board Secretary. He and his wife Janet also paint mushrooms as members of the Great River Chapter of Botanical Art and the American Society of Botanical Art. Their home abuts a 2,565 acre park reserve in Bloomington MN where many of his 10,000+ mushroom photos were taken.
